Log website changes to Google Sheets

Build a living spreadsheet of everything that changes on the pages you track: prices, titles, AI summaries and severities, appended automatically, one row per alert.

Available from the Standard plan ($24/mo).

How to set it up

The same steps you will see in the product, so there are no surprises.

1

In your Google Sheet, open Extensions then Apps Script, replace the code with the short script SiteGauge shows you in the Add channel dialog, and save.

2

Click Deploy, New deployment, Web app. Set "Execute as: Me" and "Who has access: Anyone", then deploy and authorise.

3

Copy the Web app URL it gives you.

4

In SiteGauge, open Alerts, click Add channel, pick Sheets and paste the URL (the button below lands you on that exact form).

5

Optionally add extra columns for the values you want logged, such as the tracked price, page title, H1, meta description, AI summary or severity.

What arrives in Google Sheets

  • A plain-English AI summary of what changed and why it matters, once analysis completes
  • Category and importance score, usually included so the loud signals surface first
  • A link back to the full before and after in SiteGauge
  • Grouped delivery on your alert cadence, so a busy page never floods the channel

Google Sheets FAQs

Why does it use Google Apps Script?
SiteGauge POSTs each alert to a small Apps Script web app attached to your sheet. That means SiteGauge never needs OAuth access to your Google account, and you can read exactly what the script does before deploying it. The full script and walkthrough are shown in the Add channel dialog.
What ends up in the sheet?
One row per alert. The first alert writes the header row from the payload, and later rows align to it, so new fields appear without editing the script. You can configure extra columns for the tracked value, page title, H1, meta description, AI summary, severity, event type, URL and time.
Which plan do I need for Google Sheets?
The Google Sheets channel starts on the Standard plan, alongside the chat and webhook channels. The Free plan sends alerts by email.
Can I log only the changes that matter?
Yes. Alert rules control which events and severities create alerts at all, and the channel's own cadence controls how often grouped alerts arrive.
