The SiteGauge Chrome extension puts monitoring in your toolbar. Click the icon on any page, or right-click a link, and SiteGauge starts watching it for changes, no need to leave your browser.

Click the SiteGauge icon on any page. It pre-fills the URL and page title, then you set a name, check frequency, type and tags before creating the monitor.

"Monitor this page with SiteGauge" is on the right-click menu of any page or link, with a desktop notification confirming it was added.

Your own API key

Connect once with a SiteGauge API key from Settings then API keys, and test the connection from the extension's options page before you start.

How it works

Add SiteGauge to Chrome or Edge from the Web Store (the button below takes you there).

In SiteGauge, open Settings then API keys and create a key, then paste it into the extension's Options page and click Test connection.

On any page, click the toolbar icon (or right-click the page or a link), set a name, check frequency, type and tags, then click Monitor this page.

SiteGauge starts watching. When it changes, you get an AI summary of what changed and why it matters, wherever your alerts are set to arrive.

Chrome extension FAQs

Is the SiteGauge Chrome extension free?
Yes. The extension itself is free to install. Monitors you create with it count against your SiteGauge plan's monitor and check allowance, the same as a monitor added in the dashboard, so it works on the Free plan too.
Do I need a SiteGauge account first?
Yes. Sign up for free, then create an API key under Settings then API keys (the key starts with vgl_). Paste it into the extension's Options page once, click Test connection, and every page you monitor from then on lands in that account.
Which browsers does it support?
Chrome and Edge, since both run Manifest V3 extensions. It is not currently available for Firefox.
Can I monitor a link without opening it?
Yes. Right-click any page or any link on a page and choose "Monitor this page with SiteGauge" from the context menu. A desktop notification confirms it was added.
What can I set when I add a page?
The toolbar popup pre-fills the URL and page title, then lets you set a name, a check frequency, a type (competitor, own site, pricing, SEO, content or custom) and tags before you click Monitor this page. Your plan's fastest allowed frequency still applies.
